I’m not sure if it differs from state to state but this in Illinois. I’m not doing anything unethical, I was just wondering for my own knowledge since I don’t know the answer. This is if an agent shows a property to a potential buyer, then the listing expires then that same buyer ends up buying the property the agent showed the buyer after the listing expired. Thanks in advance.

My partner and I have found a property that we like. We were originally shown through by an agent. We returned the next day to have a look around without an agent and the owner turned up to mow. When we were leaving we got the phone number from the owner. We are interested and would like to make an offer direct to the owner is it legal? The agent is not an exclusive agency as the property is listed with various agents.
Sorry should have said we didn’t sign any agreement with the owner. We simply met her at the property and she showed us through.

I’ve made an offer on a house, but my real estate agent showed the property to another one of his client and told them the price i offered. Thus allowing them to get the property is there anything i can do about it?
About a year ago I purchased a house and the property taxes were improperly advertised by the agent?

The agent displayed the property taxes in the listing as 1035 a year when actually they were 1350 per year a typeo. We finally learned about it when we got to the settlement table. She relized she made a mistake and said oh the taxes increased. I thought she was correct but strongly doubted her. I learned later that in Maryland Taxes are reassessed every 3 years on the fiscal calendar year of july so it was immpossible for the taxes to even increase when we went to the settlement table. Is there any legal action that can be taken against the real estate agencey for showing lower taxes then actuall. I understand the taxes are public knowledge and we should of if we wanted to be sure researched them in the first place….
